How to Set In10tions to Create an Amazing Life

Intention setting is something that is becoming more and more prevalent in today’s busy world. It is exciting to see the concept of mindfulness in mainstream media, showing how beneficial it can be for an individual’s personal and professional life. Some forward thinking companies are even hosting their own meditation groups for their employees, resulting in game changing results in their performance and outcomes. (http://www.huffingtonpost.
Despite the movement mindfulness is making, there is still a gap of individuals who struggle with beginning a meditation practice, due to a lack of understanding or challenge with time constraints. This is where I have decided to step in and serve these individuals, teaching them about the benefits of modern mindfulness with in10tion setting. An in10tion is a declaration to how we create our desires and sets the pace of our actions. It is a heart centered practice designed to create your desired outcomes in all areas of your life, including career, relationships, health, and life satisfaction.
In10tions matter for many reasons. According to Deepak Chopra, we have between 60,000-80,000 thoughts per day and the majority of them are the same thoughts we had the day before. So imagine, if you are having crappy thoughts today, then you will have the same crappy thoughts the next day and the next and the next! Now sometimes there are challenging life circumstances, so this is not about sugar coating things, but more about shifting our focus to areas of the situation that are much more serving to help steer you towards outcomes that are more desirable.
I love the traditions of meditation, but realize that everyone is not like me like me. I wanted to bring the benefits of meditation and mindfulness to the individuals that may not be exposed to it, are intimidated by it, or don’t know how to start. I wanted to show people that mindfulness does not have to be complicated and that just ten minutes a day is a great starting point and you will still receive the massive benefits of feeling more focused, productive, and centered!
How to Set In10tions
So how do we set in10tions? The first step is declaring exactly what you want, using powerful descriptive language. We have a tendency to underutilize our words, and use the same words to describe the multitude of feelings we have each and every day. In10tion setting is best done using powerful, juicy language, with words like exhilarated, empowered, thrilled, and radiant to paint a picture of the vision you are creating for yourself. Remember, the words that we use don’t just define the situation, they create it! So use your words wisely!
Secondly, we have to be emotionally attached to our in10tions. Too often, people set in10tions that they are not emotionally attached to; there is no feeling behind their words. To become emotionally attached to our in10tions, we have to use intensity. Don’t just think about your in10tion, FEEL it in your body! When you write your in10tions using descriptive language and paint a picture of your vision, you should feel excited! You should feel the emotion in your body. By becoming more emotionally attached to your in10tions, you will become more invested in them and the process of integrating them into your everyday life.
The third and last step involves repetition. With doing anything new, we need to repeat, repeat, repeat and create rituals to incorporate these new in10tions to our lives. When we create new habits they may feel unnatural at first, but after time, they become second nature and a part of who we are. The power of my book In10tions is that it guides you through morning and evening rituals for 90 days to help you discover a new mindset. So whether you read your in10tions, meditate, or journal about them, create a daily ritual to begin to incorporate them into your life.
In10tion setting is a powerful process that is not only empowering but life changing. We have so much power within, and this begins with the power of our thoughts, where we place our focus, and what in10tions we set to create a life that we desire and love. Set your in10tions that are filled with purpose and passion, not only enhancing your life, but positively impacting the lives of others, changing the world one in10tion at a time!
